FLCCE Thanks the Sheriff’s Department for Beneva Vigilance

The HOA recently wrote a letter thanking the Sheriff’s office for their response to our residents’ requests to address drivers who violate the posted speed limit on Beneva Road where it divides our neighborhood.

We took the opportunity to remind them of all the pedestrian, electric bicycle and golf cart traffic that occurs here, and that Beneva is flanked by many residences as well. And in as much, we need their continued vigilance with the dangerous speeders that race through our neighborhood.

We wrote that the addition of blue-light cameras to catch and ticket speeders is much appreciated, and we understand that the officers on motorcycles have delivered multiple speeding tickets.

We are aware that there are several options which may assist in regulating the drivers who are resistant to the speed limit established for this area. Some may include the use of flashing signs, decreased speed limit, more cameras and/or more officers on patrol. Until such time these deterrents, or others, are installed, we requested the Sherriff to continue to maintain a regular presence and ticket the speeders.

Finally, we thanked the men and women who work for the Sherriff’s department on our behalf, we know they put their lives at risk to ensure our safety and we are very grateful for their hard work.
